Clava’s art department is PC based. Please email artwork to: art@clava.com.
Black and white camera-ready art in high res vector format must be provided by customer. Preferred file types are .ai or .eps – Adobe Illustrator format .
A hardcopy/laser printout or CD can be sent via mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.
However, no edits or resizing can be done – it will be processed “as is”.
Graphic design services are available for art that needs significant rebuilding or cleaning up. The rate is hourly at $200(P) – 1/4 hour increments. The SKU for graphic design is 0-05.
Clava reserves the right to resize art according to decorating surface(s) of each particular item. Each style has a specific decorating area(s) and maximum decorating size, please call for more information.
A proof of the logo’s actual size and placement will be faxed/emailed prior to production.
This form must be signed and faxed back for production to begin.
A pre-production sample can be supplied at the request and expense of the customer. Pre-production samples are non-returnable. The sample charges include the price of the item, plate fee and run charge. There is a reset-up fee for the balance of the order.
DECORATING OPTIONS:
BLIND DEBOSSING:
Debossing is a process in which the leather is branded. The black and white artwork is transformed into a photographic negative that is then used to produce a magnesium die. The black portion of the artwork is pressed down into the leather leaving it imprinted while “raising” the white portion of the logo. The largest dimensions acceptable for a plate are 5.5” long and 3.5” high.
However, each style has its own specific decorating area(s) and maximum decorating size. Please call for more information.

Running charge (0-02):
$4 (P) for most items
$6 (P) for rolling luggage
$2 (P) for certain accessory items and luggage tags
Re-set up fee (0-03) for previously used plate: $40 (P)
BLIND EMBOSSING:
Embossing is the reverse process of debossing. The artwork is framed by black – which is debossed and pressed – making the white portion of the logo look as if it is raised. The largest dimensions acceptable for a plate are 5.5” long and 3” high. However, every style has its own decorating area and size.

FOIL STAMPING:
The same process of producing a magnesium plate is necessary for foil stamping. The die is heated and coated with the foil color and pressed and “burned” onto the leather. Please note only one color foil per logo. Special order colors – foil and non-metallic - are available at an extra charge and add’l two day production time. Stock colors are gold and silver.

INITIALS:
Two or three letter debossing. We offer stock fonts at no additional fee.
Initials can be debossed or foil stamped.

TEXT/FULL NAME:
We offer stock fonts available for text at no additional fee. If a different font is necessary, a die will have to be made. It is also possible that a different font may be available for add’l fee.
There are spatial limits to the amount of characters/lines of text. If it is necessary to exceed these boundaries, a die will have to be made at an additional charge.
Text can be debossed or foil stamped.
Running charge for full name (0-041): $20 (P)
Running charge for text: Please call for a quote. This charge depends on the amount of characters/lines.

It is possible that we don’t have the amount of each letter needed for certain text – if this is the case, add’l charges will apply.
